SHAMROCK'S 'BRAND' NEW LOOK
Many office workers in Central know Shamrock and its sandwiches, but did you know that this 14-year old company does so much more?

While the company has grown over the years, the brand image had not kept pace. Neither the logo nor the other graphic material communicated the size and qualities of the business. A missed opportunity to build business! <more>

Philip GeorgeIT'S A MAKEOVER!
Media coverage catches the eye of your potential and current clients, adds credibility to your marketing message and is the most powerful form of 'advertising' going.

To paraphrase a saying, luck only happens when you work at it and by contacting relevant media on behalf of The Philip George Salon, proposing story ideas, we now have a series of articles coming up over the next few months.

The first article was in the SCMP where writer Suzanne Harrison came to The Philip George Salon to see what a hair makeover could do for Kim Burns, working mother of 6-month-old Luke. Philip said: "A new hairstyle can change a person's personality." Take a look at Kim's transformation here. Kim was delighted: "I feel like a kid with a new toy, trying out different styles." Fantasy advertTECHNOLOGY IS ONE THING...
With the weak US dollar Fantasy, an established Hong Kong printer responsible for many of the magazines you see around town, decided to target business overseas. To reach this audience the company booked adverts in the TDC's Enterprise and Packaging publications and came to Katie McGregor Marketing. The brief was for an advert design that would stand out from the clutter of the TDC publications, and appeal to an international audience.

With online research, we saw that many print companies simply boasted the range of print machines they had or droned on about the history of their business. These are all worthwhile features but what's the benefit to the client?

Fantasy is rightly proud because while the company does have the machines, it also boasts professionally qualified staff – MBAs and stuff like that. As a result, we proposed a tag line: "More than machines, it's about the service". See the various design ideas and headlines proposed by clicking here. The final advert lead with the headline, "Technology is one thing, service is another."

Charming newsletterRIGHT FIRST TIME
This client is introducing a quality programme to their staff to get it "Right First Time". Don't we all wish we could!

It's a great programme full of really effective ideas and it's exciting to be party to the project as it is implemented over the coming months. But "Right First Time' is a way of life so to remind staff of the concepts they are learning as they carry on with their work, Katie McGregor Marketing is working with the client to develop a communication programme. The first task was a simple newsletter that highlighted the key ideas introduced to the staff in the launch meeting. To engage the reader, the newsletter included the announcement of a logo design competition (take my work, won't you?), and a simple quiz to match the icons with the concepts. Nothing too hard but just a trick to get people thinking.

And the Leaning Tower of Pisa? A mistake centuries ago has the engineers still working to put the problem right.

MARKETING IN ACTION

"Perfect," said Philip, owner of The Philip George Salon looking over the first draft of the salon's new newsletter. It was good to know we'd struck close to the target on the first attempt!

The informative newsletter forms part of the marketing programme put together with the objective of bringing in more clients to support the new, larger salon. <more>
